Computer Science
I cycle programme (Engineer Degree)
(7 semesters)
- full-time mode (week)
- extra-mural mode (weekends)
The core curriculum of the Computer Science course is fully compliant with all the standards of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) and it enables its graduates to continue their education at postgraduate programmes at WSInf or any other higher education institution in Poland whose curricula meets the requirements of the MNiSW. The subjects extending the core curriculum are oriented for the specialized knowledge needed to educate the best IT engineers on the market and they are compliant with the latest international trends in education.
All students opt for their majors at their fourth semester and they have a choice of the following specializations:
- Programming and Databases
- Computer Graphics
- Teleinformatics
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Network Technology & Cyber Security
- Bachelor in Computer Application
Description of specializations:
Bachelor in Programming and Databases
Graduates are prepared for creative and inventive problem-solving tasks in the field of programming database systems and generally well-focused on the overall understanding of the IT problems with specific emphasis on networking, data transfer and security, as well as data processing. They are able to program with the latest and most popular structural and object-oriented environments including web programming, visual and system programming, as well as low-level programming. Graduates know how to manage the programming projects, they know methods and tools facilitating software engineering. They also know how to use and administrate databases and how to integrate various information systems.
Bachelor in Computer Graphics
Choosing this major a student gains knowledge in the area of designing graphics. The term graphics comprises aspects related to advertisement, informative graphics as well as presentation and hobby-oriented graphics. During the course students get acquainted with DTP, digital typesetting and multimedia website designing. This major teaches basic theory of graphical composition but it also familiarizes students with esthetics and different aspects of critique. Graduates are ready to work either on their own or in a team for companies and firms whose profile is oriented for web related services, typesetting and DTP. They are precious employees not only for advertising agencies but for any kind of company which needs a graphics professional. An IT engineer with this specialization enhances chances for greater profits for any kind of company.
Bachelor in Teleinformatics
Teleinformatics is an area of science which deals with various issues related to sending data and information (messages and data). Teleinformatics combines two different disciplines: telecommunications – transferring information and information technology – data processing. Graduates of this major are well prepared to work in the telecommunications sector both in the process of circuit switching and the processes of data processing such as data gathering and archiving (databases and knowledge databases). They get familiar with software for compression-decompression and transmission of data at different levels of security; they learn various aspects of coding, processing and complex analysis of actual and compressed data in order to gain the required information.
Bachelor of Computer Science (Network Technology and Cyber Security)
Bachelor of Computer Science (Network Technology and Cyber Security) is a four years academic program which offers a unique opportunity to learn about specialist security techniques and use real-world networking equipment in a security context. Students are also educated about market-Leading CISCO Routing and Switching techniques, security appliances, ethical hacking Techniques, Vulnerability analysis, penetration techniques and data encryption technology. This program also offers flexibility in the third year and final year with optional units including area such as datacenter design and management, cloud computing, advance routing and switching, python programming and a varied catalog of Linux Administration.
This program offers two projects in the sixth and seventh semester and industrial internship program in final semester.
