We are proud to announce that our students are fighting bravely and successfully in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro!
Our student of the Faculty of Education and Health Promotion, Kinga Kołosińska is representing Poland and WSIU University.Kinga, along with Monika Brzostek play in the women's beach volleyball. The debuting players have already achieved their first success in the first Group A game and won with the American duo of Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Sweat 2: 1, and then beat duo from Russia 2: 0. Thus they qualified for the 1/8 finals and will compete for a way out of the group with a team from Brazil (the match will take place on Thursday - 11 August, at. 15:00).
The second reason to be proud of, our graduate Ruben Dario Limardo Gascon – a fencer, and gold medalist at the Olympic Games in London in 2012, fighting in the colors of Venezuela and is this year's representative at the Olympic Games in Rio. Unfortunately, during these Olympics he will not repeat the success from four years ago (in the 1/16 finals he lost to the Egyptian Aymanem Fayezem), but we believe in Ruben and we hope to see him also at the next Olympics in Tokyo.
We highly congratulate all participants such a huge success, which is undoubtedly taking part in the Olympics! Of course we keep our fingers crossed for female representation in the beach ball and all the Polish representatives in Rio !! We wish you all continued success and new records, not just at the Olympics, but also in other sporting events.
