We would like to invite all students, high school graduates and citizens of Łódź city to meet with Polish representatives and finalists in the Microsoft Imagine Cup competition in the category GAME. On 21 May (Saturday) 2016 years will have an opportunity to meet with team members Unicell, including Igor debris, which is currently a student of Artistic Computer Graphics at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design WSIU.
Unicell is a group of young technology enthusiasts from Lodz universities. At the meeting you will be able to ask the team about the interesting issues of game development, graphics, concept and how it feels like to be one of the creators of the best educational game in Poland, and perhaps soon the world!
Why are the Polish students so interesting? Well, they first they stood on the highest step of the podium during the national tournament competition, and in May they will take part in the semi-finals, which we hope will find their continuation and success in the finals of the Imagine Cup in of Seatlle (USA) in July.
It all began "from a tiny design created for fun in 48 hours during one December weekend Ludum Dare" - recalls one of the students Igor.
Their project is a mobile game Unicell, which controls the operation of a single-celled organism. The goal is survival and evolution. The player takes control of the undeveloped unicellular organism, and its purpose is to guide cells through the process of evolution through the management of its internal structures. The player always has a choice in which direction to develop your cell phone. Estimated time of a session is 15 minutes. The game offers a wide range of solutions that make each game completely different from the previous one. Complex stages of this process, ie. The building of new organelles, digestion of food molecules on the storage molecules are presented in an accessible and interesting form, so the game has a strong educational value, while being excellent entertainment and fun.
